 IBI Research Program: Cardovascular Disease

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Accordingly, decades of cardiovascular research has produced numerous, validated protein markers with prognostic, diagnostic and immediate response value. IBI's approach is readily able tolincorporate known data about these markers, and at the same time discover new biomarkers related specific conditions such as arteriosclerosis and myocardial infarction. In this manner, past worldwide research efforts are used to validate new biomarkers, merging established clinical knowledge with new-world proteomics approaches. Future applications can include point-of-care non-invasive diagnostic assays used as valuable tests for early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.
