Bioreactive Probes (BRP™) are patented plates with 96 or 386 wells that modify protein samples in a way that is ideal for mass spectrometric analysis. Modification of a protein is initiated upon application to the Bioreactive Probes, and terminated some time later with the addition of a MALDI matrix. Using BRP keeps sample losses to a minimum, as there is no transfer or handling beyond the initial application of analyte to the probe, and reaction times are short because high reagent-to-analyte ratios can be used without interferences due to the reagents. Used in combination with other components of IBI's MASSAY process, BRP enables parallel analysis of thousands of samples per day.
